Roofing Service Areas Across Western North Carolina

Based in Asheville, serving Buncombe, Haywood and Henderson counties, the rest of Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Asheville first, then three counties

Arolite Group is based in Asheville and works across Buncombe, Haywood and Henderson counties, and also serves the rest of Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. On a map the three counties sit side by side, and from the office at 133 Church Street you can reach the far edge of any of them in under an hour. On the roof they are three different jobs, and the difference comes down to elevation and housing stock.

Buncombe County is our home market. Asheville holds the oldest houses we work on, bungalows and foursquares in West Asheville and Montford that are pushing a hundred years and have been reroofed three or four times, some of them straight over the last layer. The decking under those roofs is the first thing we check. North of the city toward Weaverville and south toward Arden the stock gets newer and the subdivisions get bigger, with the steep gables and dormers that builders favored in the 2000s. The whole county sits in a bowl of ridges with a heavy tree canopy, so oak leaves, pine needles and the occasional dropped limb are a fact of life on every roof.

Haywood County is higher and colder. Waynesville, Maggie Valley and Canton all sit well above Asheville, and the gap in elevation shows up as more snow, more ice and a longer freeze and thaw season. Standing-seam metal is common on the cabins and chalets around Maggie Valley for exactly that reason. It sheds snow, it does not care about a north-facing slope that never sees sun in January, and it suits the second homes that go weeks between visits. Haywood also took serious water in the Pigeon River valley from Fred in 2021 and Helene in 2024, and tree strikes from both storms are still turning up in roof inspections.

Henderson County is the flattest of the three and the fastest growing. The valley floor around Hendersonville, Fletcher and Mills River is open apple and farm country turning into subdivisions along I-26 and US-25, and a large share of the buyers are retirees who want one roof that lasts and one contractor who shows up. Flat Rock and Laurel Park bring back the trees and the older homes. Hail is occasional across all three counties rather than an annual event, but wind along the ridgelines and heavy rain off the remnants of tropical systems are not occasional at all.

The process is the same in every county. An exterior consultant comes out, gets on the roof, photographs what is there and sits down with you at the kitchen table with a written, itemized price. If the job goes ahead, the same company handles the roof, the siding and the gutters, so you are not coordinating three contractors around one house. Financing is available if you want to spread the cost.

What Our Customers Say

Reviews left by Arolite Group customers on Google, Facebook and Angi, shown word for word.

I would recommend highly recommend Arolite Group to anybody. They are outstanding roofers but that's not all. When they came by to quote on our roof, they also quoted on interior painting and the repair of our master bathroom. They essentially provided project management on those components and coordinated their work with a couple of other specialty trades. They put our job to the top of the list, and communicated effectively throughout our job. Jeff and Hayden are customer focused and communicate very effectively!
